Where does abuse happen?

Abuse can, and does, happen anywhere, to anyone. You may be abused in your own home, including by those who are living with you, or perhaps by relatives or people who visit you in your home.

You may live or stay in a care home or hospital. Or you may visit places such as day care centres or lunch clubs on a regular basis. You could be abused by the people who work in or visit you in these places.

No matter where you are, you shouldn’t suffer abuse. If it is happening to you, you should be aware that help is available and there are people you can talk to about it.
